The Los Angeles Unified School District currently has a projected deficit of $596.1 million for the next academic year. In part of this deficit, nearly 9,000 reduction in force (RIF) notices have been sent out to employees informing them that they may be laid off. This site was designed to give key updates, facts about the budget deficit, and to create a space for meaningful dialogue among concerned stakeholders on this issue.
